Hello,
When I had firmware 1.1.4 I bought SwirlyMMS. Yesterday I moved forward to firmware 2.1, but when I downloaded SwirlyMMS this time there was no license any more. How can I fix this?

I posted this on a software forum, it was just an idea i've had.

So we all know that it is possible to send an mms through an iphone by sending a picture in an email to the persons phone number with the correct mms extension for alltell, att, etc. (ex: [email protected].) When you do this, the other person will recieve a message, albeit it will not be attached to your phone number so it will display a different name that what is in their phone book.

However, it is inconvienient to look up the correct extension for every different service out there, and also annoying to go back and forth between contacts to get the phone number out of contacts and into the to: portion of the e-mail. Really, who remembers everyones phone number anymore?

As well, people on an Iphone without swirlymms can recieve a mms. However they are given the viewmymessage.com url along with a username and password. Again, they are annoying to input as they are randomized and hard to remember and you must go back and forth between your sms and safari to get things done. Then you must wait. Then, if you get a retrievial failed message, then you must put the codes in all over again.

True, if you are sitting down with a pencil and paper you can write these down once and not have to go back and forth between the programs. But we have phones so we dont have to write letters, this should work the same.

The nice thing is that many programs are able to access the internet and display http without being directly in safari, like cydia and their "more info" pages. As well, we can copy things from a text message and put it in an e-mail via CopierciN.

What I suggest is a program with the ability to do two things. First, have a very simple dialog where you select a contact and it puts their phone number into a text field. On the same dialog, there would be a list where you could select the contact's carrier (ex: alltell, verizon, att, etc) creating the phone number e-mail address required. It could then do one of two things: 1. Simply insert the number e-mail address into the To: portion of the e-mail after a photo has been selected. 2. Save the phone number to the e-mail contacts that are already saved on the phone, or under the "email" protion that apple already provides on the contact page. Both of these will save (one must be sent to save) the number in the iphones e-mail list where it can be retrieved. If it was saved under the contact e-mail, it would be easier to retireve as you can type the persons name in the to: section of the e-mail and it will show their address as well as their name, thus you dont need to remember portions of their number. (If you dont understand this last part, add an e-mail address to one of your contacts. Go and create a new e-mail and type the persons name, not their e-mail address, in the to: part of the e-mail. It will show their name and their e-mail address)

Secondly, the program would need to have a way to retrieve photos or whatever from the viewmymessage.com website. In my mind it sounds like a relativley easy process. 1. Use a performance like CopierciN so that the user can select the text message that contains the sms they want to recieve. The program then removes all of the excess information that is always the same, and saves the only things that are needed. These are also the only things that change. The Username and Password. It then just puts these into the form automatically and retrieves the photo in any way possible.

what if your on a family plan an you already have unlimited messaging enabled on the plan, what could i do to have swirly working, I tried calling att but they insist that the iphone does not have mms, what options do i have ????

I am on AT&T locked 3g iPhone.  I know perfectly well that the iPhone can handle MMS but AT&T insists it cannot.  So what I ask is can you provide a NON-DAEMON version of your app to the App Store?  It's really a matter of Apple seeing that there is a MMS app AND more importantly everyone that has your app will complain all at once to AT&T.  That way they will be forced to add it to the plan for the masses.

Thanks for all you do, I will buy this app after I know it will work with AT&T with the regular $30 a month plan.  I have run the app and with the main At&T settings I can see when I get a MMS and see who it is from and see the size of it (using your awesome app) BUT when I go to view the message (or send for that matter)  I get a 403 Forbidden from AT&T...

For many problems the resolution is REBOOT! After you put in al the settings of your operators mms server proxyserver and username and password, you MUST REBOOT to get it to work. Many operators request that you send them a SMS to activate MMS on your mobile number! Please do not forget these steps before complaining to the makers of this very very very very nice program ;)

It looks great (the app) but unfortunatelly didn't work with my iphone 3g with Movistar (spanish company). Called Movistar asking about configuration and everything I put was fine, they don't simply give service for iphones. Don't know what to do...

har gjort en ny beställning på mms från telenor, men det fungerar ändå inte.
får hela tiden meddelandet:
