v1.0 Beta is out...

Thanks for all the greetings and nice words from all of you around the Swirly space! And thanks to all of you who volunteered to test the beta version of our application!
In this first round of testing, we have decided to use only a handful of beta testers to be able to keep up with the feedback. Hopefully, this test round won’t last very long and we aim to release a v1.0 later this month.
We haven't said so before, but do now... We have put a huge amount of effort in developing this application, which started out as a combination of pure programming pleasure, curiosity of exploring the inner workings of this wonderful device and solving a concrete and major problem (guess which
). After having accomplished our initial goals it would have been easy to move on to the next project. But, instead we have decided to stick with this creature of ours and improve it even further. In order to be able to keep working with the app and spend way too much time in doing so, we have decided to charge for it. Maybe some of you get disappointed by this fact and think that this is a bad move and that we should keep developing and release it for free… So, in order to try to not upset you too much we will keep the price tag low. We have settled on $8. And those of you who have donated will of course get it for free. Also, you will all have a trial-period to try it out. We hope for your understanding and that you will like v1.0!Regards,

i know this project is hard and i appreciate all your work (im planning to purchase it for 8 dollars) but i was wondering how concrete is this release date? I recall you guys saying a release date for an update and you guys released it like 6 weeks after that. Do we have to prepare ourselves for another delay or is this actually going to be released on time? but once again, thanks for all the effort and work!

-I’m fairly new to the iphone, not to mention the Swirly world. I had my wife’s old iphone jailbroken in order for me to use with T-Mobile & I installed v0.3.8 about a month & a half ago. I was wondering why the pictures I receive are not opening to the size of the full screen? Its size is about 2 inches square & it centers itself on the screen. Is this normal or did I do something wrong? -I just read your updated v1.0 should be out later this month. If the above is normal, will the new version fix this? -Is v1.0 still going to allow us to view videos sent via MMS?

to all the assholes in the house to change the name of the app to MMS without actually changing the name is possible just like how the phone app is called mobile phone and not phone.SSH into you iphone edit /System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app/English.lproj/LocalizedApplicationNames.stringsand add this to itcom.swirlyspace.swirlymms MMS so now it will show MMS on the springboard and not SwirlyMMS

If you can make swirly face an official iPhone app on the upcoming Apple App Store, I'd be willing to pay $9 for it. I'm starting to get a general sense that MMS is not as easy at it may sound because it's implementation is somewhat carrier specific. So anyway if you could make the MMS application and offer it for sale, I'd appreciate it.

Hey Guys. No problem with the name here! Just as long as it fills a HUGE oversite by Mac. Even with the 3G version coming soon here in Australia they aren't giving us MMS... 8 sounds like a bargin provided all the features you outlines in "in the pipe" make it in.
Also, I am in favour of ditching the splash screen. Straight to the app would be nicer. GREAT APP GUYS!

Can't wait for it. The only thing going to put me of is the name and start up screen which are soooo annoying. To be honest I don't know why you just don't call it "MMS" and get rid of the startup screen. :-)

Thank for this great App! I wont buy unless you change the name to "Park-a-Swirly MMS"!!! Please change the name! I dont know why you would just stop at just "Swirly MMS"! And please make it so that there isnt any load time whatsoever so I dont have to see an aweful splash screen please!!!! That is soooo annoying! I am really hoping you are listening tommy and matty!

Well, I know how to SSH into iPhone but won't that mess the permissions or something up. Wouldn't it be more easier for the developers to just call it "MMS"?? I don't know why they even put "swirly" in front of it. I really really really hope they just call it "MMS" and get rid of the loading screen.

So all the features you mentioned in the post "v1.0 is in the pipe...." will they all be in the new version and can you save pictures recieved to your camera roll or photo library so they get synced to PC when you connect your iPhone? thanks

I can send. I can receive but I can't open a darn thing. The Mobile Preview finds the file in Mobile Finder but it keeps opening the wallpaper image. I spent hours trying to work out this glich to no avail. Why oh why would it not open the file. There's also an odd button on the top right of Mobile Preview screen that doesn't have a name. What could that be for. I know it's your product that's causing the problem but can you help?

AT&T treats their cutomers anyway they like and there is nothing we at SwirlySpace.com can do about it. We know that some SwirlyMMS users, which has AT&T, can send and receive MMS with no problem at all.
And we know that some SwirlyMMS AT&T users have problem too. We can not say why this is the case...

Ur an idiot rofl. It's weird when your mates are looking through your iPhone and ask why it's not called "MMS" like on every other one. I've never used or installed SwirlyMMS partly because of the name and that I was waiting for something like v1.0. I probably won't but it because of the name but definetly would if its just called "MMS". I bet there will be loads of people put of by the name and won't buy it but if it were "MMS" they would.
