Hey guys I'm taqeel01, the one who discovered the crack for the setting you chose : mmsc.cingular.com/ims
Please forgive me for the lapse in time between posts but I have been doing a bunch of testing on different Swirly settings because after the 1.3 update my settings were inadvertently knocked offline. [They immediately released another update that included a lot of fixes(Great work Swirly!)]-Eventhough the settings I discovered are working for me I've still been testing other settings to possibly come up with a MASTER setting that allows ALL at&t users to access the mms gateway. Everyone is working diligently for those results so don't give up hope.
I am an original iPhone owner who switched an eleven year contract from another carrier to at&t for the benefits of the iPhone to find out the functions were limited so you can probably understand why I have been an advocate of hacking it-making it work i.e. mms, bluetooth etc.
Well, that mmsc setting(MMSC:mmsc.cingular.com/ims) allows you to access the multimedia gateway even when your account reflects an apple iPhone. One thing to remember is no one setting is gonna work for all at&t users because there are many divisions of bellsouth/at&t/cingular so the gateway is accessed differently. example: I have another at&t account that accesses the mms gateway using the setting
MMSC:mmsc.cingular.com
Proxy:wireless.cingular.com
APN:ims.cingular
That's why there are so many usable settings on the SwirlySpace website(the many divisions of at&t). Eventhough I'm thrilled to able to send and receive mms messaging I want you to remember everyone is working ardently to discover a setting for all at&t users. Until then you can always go to
http://swirlyspace.com/mmssettings/ and try many of the almost 60 different working settings.
Send me an email at
[email protected] or
[email protected] and I'll do my best to either point you in the right direction or help you find the setting for you. Happy MMS ing.
