This worked for my iPhone fine. Although, my girlfriends gets the "user barred" error when trying to send and she receives the AT&T txt when i send her a mms. Any help/suggestions? Thanks!

Uh, am I missing something here? What exactly are you asking for donations for? What did you spend "countless hours" cracking? The setting you claim to have cracked are already available in the settings wizard in the app. So what am I not seeing?

Haha... I received four emails and one sms stating that I was on the wrong plan as I'm using the iPhone 3g on a BB data plan. WTF!

Now it's not working anymore. I get a forbidden error message now.

Swirly is a great concept, but it's useless since it's not compatible with the worlds exclusive iPhone carrier Att! What a joke that they charge LOL

You know it's funny, I bought Swirly when I read that someone on another web site was fixing the settings on AT&T's side of the fence. I never got any response from the guy, so I thought I was shit out of luck. I had called AT&T and had them enable WAP push, (they can still do it by the way, they did it for me just days ago) I had them reset my VLR's, and nothing happened. I have a first generation iphone, so my AT&T plan includes 200 free texts per month. I also have the unlimited MMS family plan, but it cannot supersede the iphone plan on the 1G, because it is part of the 1g data plan. So I tried all the settings found in the settings wizard, including the set that the O.P. claims to have spent countless hours cracking. I tried the countless different settings found on different web sites, hell I even tried mixing some of them...none of them worked. So I pretty much gave up on the idea of getting it working.

Then the other night, I was reading about how a guy put his sim card in another phone, made a few calls, went on the internet, and sent a couple of MMS messeges from the phone. After an hour or so, he swapped the card back to his iphone and sure enough, it worked. Now this in itself wasn't all that interesting, as I have read this on other sites before. The changes that allow it to work supposedly don't last more than a few minutes. But what caught my interest was that he said that after doing this a few times, the setting stuck, and his Swirly has worked for months now without trouble. So I did the same thing (swap cards)and it has been working since my last post here. So give it a try and see what happens

AT&T USA users! UPDATE MARCH 15, 2009

Postby taqeel01 on 15 Mar 2009, 17:14

Hey guys I'm taqeel01, the one who discovered the crack for the setting you chose :
mmsc.cingular.com/ims
Please forgive me for the lapse in time between posts but I have been doing a bunch of testing on different Swirly settings because after the 1.3 update my settings were inadvertently knocked offline. [They immediately released another update that included a lot of fixes(Great work Swirly!)]-Eventhough the settings I discovered are working for me I've still been testing other settings to possibly come up with a MASTER setting that allows ALL at&t users to access the mms gateway. Everyone is working diligently for those results so don't give up hope.
I am an original iPhone owner who switched an eleven year contract from another carrier to at&t for the benefits of the iPhone to find out the functions were limited so you can probably understand why I have been an advocate of hacking it-making it work i.e. mms, bluetooth etc.
Well, that mmsc setting(MMSC:mmsc.cingular.com/ims) allows you to access the multimedia gateway even when your account reflects an apple iPhone. One thing to remember is no one setting is gonna work for all at&t users because there are many divisions of bellsouth/at&t/cingular so the gateway is accessed differently. example: I have another at&t account that accesses the mms gateway using the setting
MMSC:mmsc.cingular.com
Proxy:wireless.cingular.com
APN:ims.cingular
That's why there are so many usable settings on the SwirlySpace website(the many divisions of at&t). Eventhough I'm thrilled to able to send and receive mms messaging I want you to remember everyone is working ardently to discover a setting for all at&t users. Until then you can always go to http://swirlyspace.com/mmssettings/ and try many of the almost 60 different working settings.
Send me an email at [email protected] or [email protected] and I'll do my best to either point you in the right direction or help you find the setting for you. Happy MMS ing.

Testing... so far, not successful.

First, I'm on a 2G iPhone in Western North Carolina on AT&T. We only have Edge service in our area, no 3G. I have been trying numerous setting. With mmsc.cingular.com, 66.209.11.32:8080 and an APN of wap.cingular, I get the green m at the top, but get the 403 error when trying to send. If I change the proxy to some of the other settings, it just says it can't find the proxy. Also, if I change my APN to ims.cingular, I don't get the green m, it just stays gray, so I think I'm getting there. If I put NOTHING in the APN, I also get the green and the 403, so I don't really know if the APN does anything. It does seem that it needs some sort of username and password to work. I did try the Swirly thing of logging onto Motorola's site and sending the MMS setting automatically, and I did RECEIVE that MMS, so maybe I can receive them, but that still didn't work for sending. I have had AT&T enable WAP and MMS, send the OTA and reset the other thing, but that still didn't do it. Anyway, I'll keep working, but thought I would post my progress. Freakin' Apple. I know we want to blame AT&T, but frankly it's Apple's death grip on this crap. Oh well... still an amazing device.

Interesting... not sure what this means. For the heck of it, I changed the cingular to att on the MMSC and the Proxy and now instead of "fetch error" when trying to get a message a friend sent, I get "Requested MMS not found by the MMSC. MMS probably out-dated". This says to me that there are also settings for AT&T and not just the old cingular. Any takers on whether this will help?
