AT&T: SWIRLYMMS WORKS ON IPHONE ---FINALLY---

Here goes the different settings for MMSC, Proxy and APN that have been proven usable.

AT&T is actively trying to prevent the use of SwirlyMMS and other similar applications on their network when using the iPhone.

The reason everyone is having trouble is because AT&T is denying access to the proxy server(wireless.cingular.com:80). Each request is responded to with "403 Forbidden"

I did have SwirlyMMS working twice today for two very short periods of time until the next polling period and AT&T discovered that I was still using an iPhone. I've done everything suggested here and I give up! Now I'm investigating ways to get out of paying the early termination fee so I can switch back to T-Mobile.

On my very last call with them I had them remove the iPhone Data plan, and the Unlimited Messaging plan, and replace them with the MediaMax Unlimited plan ($35/month and includes unlimited SMS/MMS). This is actually a much better deal. Instead of $20 + $30 / month it is now $35 / month

After I did this MMS messaging worked, when I tried it use it again later it was no longer working. I logged into http://wireless.att.com and it showed an iPhone again. It seems to me so long as it says iPhone on that page you are denied access to the wireless.cingular.com:80 proxy server.

I see several people here are reporting that they have it working. I'm wondering if it worked for their test MMS messages and now no longer works.

I'm now at war with AT&T. Does anyone know if they terminate your account due to "abuse" if you still have to pay the early termination fees?

AT&T makes T-Mobile look like Jesus!

In my last post i reported about using the MediaMAX Unlitmed plan. Since I have switched over to this plan, MMS has worked everytime(both sending and receiving). My Iphone still shows up in my online account under my number, But again I did also tell ATT That I use a Sony Ericsson as my primary phone and gave them my old phones IMIE #, So maybe that has something to do with it?? I do know after I changed my plan it took alittle while for everything to take effect.

what were the settings you used? I have a "green" m. I can receive mms, but can't open them.

absolutely no help.

refuse to do it and insist they cannot change the WAP settings or change the data plan.

i'm so happy that Apple created this awesome phone w/ useless email capabilities.

guess all pics are going to have to be emailed to me since i can't even view them in Safari or save them to my phone.

or save the pictures from my laptop to my computer. freakin awesome.

EDIT: let me rephrase that "useless email capabilities" part...inability to properly send a picture through MMS instead of having to reactivate my old yahoo account from when i was 12 that i never use anymore, that nothing of value gets sent to...great job apple....you are so facistly awesome.

I just had the other two phones on my family plan get sweeped. The last time I got them working just by calling an asking for wap push to be enabled. My third phone is still working, which was enabled first by a helpful tech that changed my messaging plan to a nokia95, then was swept and re-enabled by swapping a sim card, it has been working for over a week now.

I remember being on the phone with a tech rep that was explaining that at&t had a contract with apple that didn't allow mms...picture messages must be emailed then to receive them you get a sms alert to with a link to viewmymessages.com. They explained it as "you have to use safari to get picture messages'. Ok well, what is absolutely hilarious is that viewmymessage.com/1 is not actually accessible using the 3g data network on the iPhone. So there goes AT&T's picture message solution for the iPhone. I thought I was able to get to this site on my iPhone before SwirlyMMS was available...but I may have used my computer to access it. Either way AT&T is retarded and I hate them with a passion now.

THIS IS ALL BS!!!! Wht do people have to be so annoying? I spoke to ATT and Apple enough times to qualify for a pension! There is no way MMS will work on the iPhone....period. I have talked ATT into provisioning WAP and MMS on my iPhone data plan, even though they told me "you iPhone people" don't get to have MMS provisioned. I have to figure this site is just one HUGE HOAX. It sounds like a bunch of annoying teens with nothing better to do then play with their parents iPhones, and screwing with all the rest of us hard working individuals that would just like to get MMS working just like all the other cell phones out there. It's pretty sad my free Nokia can send perfect MMS messages on ATT's network, and my $$$$$$$$ iPhone can't!!! All you bored teens: give your parents iPhones bak to them....and then GO GET A JOB!!!!

Macperry, you fu*cking jackass, I used to think and be just like you. No shit. I swear I have iPhone 3G and 2.1 firmware. gQ did something to my phone and it's been working ever since. November 13th. I swear to you. I will make a youtube video to prove it. Ive been standing right next to a person when they get one from me. It's almost instantly. I also recieve pics via MMS on my iPhone very quickly. This includes audio clips and animated gifs as well as regular pictures.

Who else is in my boat? What do I need to do to prove that I have has this working for a while now.TELL ME!

venturac....if you used to think just like me, why are you calling me names. If you read my post(rant) you will notice I never called anyone names. You should think before you mouth off, you never know who you are actually talking to.
