Postby Jacobhase on 18 Mar 2008, 23:07

Hey

I have tryed to use swirly mms a couple of times. But it doesnt work, I'm using a setting that i got from my mobile provider.

it is crucial that he m turns green. What operator are you using? what settings are you using? and what SwirlyMMS version are you running?

I know.
I'm using TDC in denmark.
My setting is:
mmsc: 192.168.241.114:8002
Proxy: 194.182.251.15
APN: mms

And the version is 0.3.6

Try to add port 8080 to the proxy: 194.182.251.15:8080

Did anyone succeed in using SwirlyMMS together with TDC Denmark? I remember when we first released 0.2.2 that I was trying to get it to work for TDC but without luck. Can you try this:
1) write in you MMS APN settings in the normal Gprs settings
2) disable wifi
3) start mail
4) quit mail
5) start a terminal/console window
6) write "ifconfig"
7) what does it say?

to get the m green it is ONLY important what you have filled in for APN, USER, and PASSWORD
MMSC and PROXY is used later when you send or receive

Okay here you go Mats.

First of all, when i try to use mail, it says that it couldnt connect to edge.

An the ifconfig says:
lo0: flags=8049<UP,loopback,Running,Multicast
>mtu 16384
inet 127.0.0.1 netmask 0xff000000
en0: flags=8863<UP,broadcast,smart,running,simples,multicast> mtu 1500
ether 00:1e:c2:db:4f:c4
ip1: flags=8011<up,pointopoint,multicast> mtu 1500
ip2: flags=8011<up,pointopoint,multicast> mtu 1500

Ok here we go Jacob. What that info tells us is that the iPhone as such cannot connect to gprs using that APN you gave it (=mms). We had a similar problem in Norway with Netcom and that we have solved. The problem for the iPhone in that situation was that it rejected the gprs connection since netcom gave it 0.0.0.0 as the DNS. I wonder if this is something similar.

If you want to debug this and give it a try then email me at [email protected]
