What is backround fetching for in the settings menu?

It means if SwirlyNet message notifications shall be polled in the background or not. The polling is done with these intervalls (if enabled in the setting you ask about):
iPhone locked/sleep: every 30 minutes
iPhone unlocked (but SwirlyMMS not running): every 10th minute
iPhone unlocked and the SwirlyMMS client running: every 2nd minute

It would still be nice if Swirly could download media when the notification comes in (in the background) .. perhaps as an option
