Since some guy names gQstatus set my setting up at the ATT side ( I think he worked there) I have been able to MMS for a long time. I actually have MMS now like it's supposed to be in the new 3.0 OS. I have MMS in the regular text messages now. I can actually recieve pictures (including animated gifs), audio clips, and movies all without Swirly. However, I do have to say that I like the way Swirly is set up better.

If you're wondering how I got it set up it was pretty easy after Googling it. You have to downgrade to a certain version of iTunes and download a IPCC file that will let you tether and mms. It was easy. However as I said I know other iPhone users who have done this and they aren't able to send or recieve any type of multimedia message. Again I beleive it has to be set up on the back end at ATT. I've heard they won't even let you use this feature until late summer. If I had a webcam or digital video camera I would demonstrate that I have it working and tell everyone how. I knew my MMS would work without Swirly and in the regular iPhone 3.0 OS because I had been able to send and recieve MMS since last November becuase some guy set it up for me. I anyone has any questions you can pm me or email me at [email protected] and I'll be glad to help you out.

Thanks,

TV

Do you have MMS working on your iPhone 2G with OS 3.0? How did you do that? :?:

BiteSMS are looking at supporting MMS for 2G iPhones in their application. It's near the top of their todo list:

I'm gonna wait and see how that plays out, as I'm a biteSMS user anyway (for the smilies and cheap international texts), and I'd probably use MMS more if it was built into my default messages app. By the way, you can change the pink icon to the standard messages icon using a winter board theme!

Hey, "that_guy", way to help Swirly gain customers.

By swearing at them and calling them names. Good approach!

You must have read "how to lose friends and alienate people" twenty times by now.

Remember, Swirly is trying to earn customers. And now, SwirlyMMS does have competition... So maybe a little customer service is the way to go...

Swirly 2.1 will be on Cydia shortly!!!!

LONG LIVE SWIRLY !!!

To all you doubters, the next version that is 3.0 compatable is upon us!
As usual Mats / Tommy make a promise and are true to their word....

Let's hope people think more seriously about the consequences of upgrading in future before the throw their toys out of the pram and start crying ... But hopefully by the time the next apple release comes people will have aged and grown up a little.

Thanks Mats and Tommy... Apple mms has nothing on swirly.

THanks for all your hard work....my SwirlyMMSv2.1 is working flawlessly on my 3.0 firmware. The only thing that I had to do again was to take my sim out, put it in my motorola v3xx; make a phone call: then goto the media net for at&t and send the code to the phone. Once that was done, I just put my sim back in my iPhone and BAM, instant MMS again!!!

I'm an AT&T user with an iPhone account, here's the process I did to get mine to work:

First, you will need a regular AT&T/Cingular phone. I used a Motorola V3XX. You should be able to use any phone as long as it is Media Net compatible.

Take the SIM from your iPhone, Insert it in to a standard phone, Make a phone call, wait about 5 minutes.

After 5 minutes go to the following link,

http://mymedianet.wireless.att.com/app/MC/Default.aspx

Enter in your mobile number(it might say your phone is not supported.. if so wait a little longer and try again), then at the next screen it will ask for a 4 digit code.

The 4 digit code will be sent to your phone via Text message.

Enter the code in on the website and then you should be able to access the main Media Net site.

Now send a mms. It will take some time for the network to recognize the phone. Be patient. Took me about 10 minutes. Dont continue until you have successfully sent a message.

Now take out the sim card and place it back in the iPhone.
