Yes the official release is ZodPlay but I'm in the beta group and they updated it the other day (under vlc4iphone) .. and that version played my 3gp files beautifully .. the current zodplay doesn't play them well at all, sometimes it crashes out and sometimes the audio is waaaaay too fast ..

Either way, the current beta of the app is much much better! I imagine it'll be updated for release soon

Lonnie first I donated to mms by way of the installer source second I donated to zodttd got vic 4 iPhone ! but when a friend sent me a vid 3gp vic found it but crashed everytime I played it when mms comes out with1.0 will it play a file sent from my friends like that ?

Isn't 3gp vid what the other phones will mostly send ? That's been what I got the most of ! And how come all the other phone handle all types and the iPhone won't ? Man I was looking forward to the release of vs 1 just so my friends couldn't make fun of the fact iPhone can't handle vids ! : (

you are correct that 3gp is THE format for vids on phones but as the iphone has no support we have not had time to add support for 3gp. We will in future versions of course. Have you seen the vlc package for iphone. It is huge!!!

Sorry for sounding like a tard. But what exactly is 3pg? Is that what the mms with video and sounds format comes in?

Does it still look like v1.0 will be out by months end?

3gp is a format normally used when sending movies between phones. SwirlyMMS can send and receive any file format (including 3fp files) but cannot show 3gp movies. It can though receive and show mp4 and mov movies.
