v1.0 is in the pipe...

v1.0 is in the pipe...

Hi all Swirly users!

Since we get several emails asking the same thing we will answer you all here. And the answer is yes, we are now in the phase of putting together the big 1.0-release, which delivers loads of new and improved features!

With this release, we will bring you an easy-to-use user-interface, inspired by the mail application, which allows you to navigate through your received and sent multi-media messages.

Speaking of multi-media, in this release you will not be limited to send and receive images - you will be able to send and receive images, text, audio and video.

You will be able to send and receive messages containing multiple multi-media parts. For example you can send an image together with a long text in the same message.

We will provide a built-in media viewer so that you can easily view your messages from within SwirlyMMS.

You can easily reply to, or forward the message and you will be able to select multiple recipients.

You will be able to save a multi-media item to a file of your choice.

To send a photo, you will be able to select it, not only from your camera roll but also from your synched photo library or use the built-in file browser to pick any file.

Also, you will be able to take a photo with the camera from within SwirlyMMS and send it right away.

To help you configure the application with the MMS settings, we have developed a package which handles settings delivered over-the-air!

So, you may think that all this sounds pretty good, but of course you still wonder: when will a version that includes all these features be released? And the answer on that is: hopefully within, hmmm... maybe three-four weeks.

/Tommy&Mats

PS. We will publish a couple of screenshots really soon. Stay tuned!
PPS. We have plans on adding really cool and useful features in the next forthcoming releases :-)

This is great news. There are some really really nice features there. Finally, MMS will come to the iPhone! No thanks to Apple! And Swirly's efforts will probably surpass what Apple would have done anyway! When it's out, expect donations coming your way ;-).

I'm sorry, I know I promised screenshots and if it wasn't for the waaaaay too ugly icons (info, settings, save, reply, compose) in the bottom navigation bar, I could post a bunch of screenshots right now. However, we have stuff of higher priority on our todo lists right now. ;-)
