Recipient -> Email from contact (possible AT&T pseudo-fix?)

Just about everyone is having issues using SwirlyMMS with ATT (and possibly other carriers) and i think one quick semi-fix for this would be if SwirlyMMS made it easy to use the contacts email address in place of their phone number. That way, we could specify peoples email address as their full phone email address such as [email protected] or [email protected]

granted this wouldnt fix the ability of other people to send us picture messaging, as they would have to use our full phone email address as well, but this may atleast provide some sort of sanity for iphone att users atleast being able to send messages, and might be a neat feature to have for just about every other basic reason - making it easy to send a picture to a contact email address instead of to their phone (so they can for instance have it already injected into their computer and downloaded by simply checking their mail)... so it'd be like killing 2 birds with 1 stone ;)

an extension of this idea would be... having some sort of non-MMS related version (that would help avoid picture message fees) to be able to specify a contact, and then instead of having to rely on the full phone email address having alreadying been attached to that contact, make it so that theres like a drop down that lets you select what carrier, which then takes the phone number from the contact, and appends the would be full email address to the end of the recipient.. such as... my friend Abc's number is 1234567890 - so from swirly, i select my buddy Abc and then choose his carrier (verizon for instance) and then it takes his number 1234567890 and then slaps @vzwpix.com onto the end of it... ultimately for repeat picture messages to the same person, best case scenario would be being able to specify at the contact level what carrier they were, so it was more a swirly extension onto contacts, which might not even be possible.

but yeah, yada yada, would be neat, might never happen... but from the basic notion described originally, it may make sense as a very valuable addition on multiple levels for a future swirlymms release.

small Businesses

Postby Loruoo01 on 14 Feb 2009, 20:32

What challenges do we really face when we start our own small Businesses, and how can we overcome them? What does it take to make the leap of faith? And what are the rewards of being entrepreneurs?

I have been interviewing successful entrepreneurs for my blog, Yes to Me. So far, I have posted ten articles for wow gold this series, interviewing thirteen entrepreneurs (three posts feature a pair of entrepreneurs). These are small business owners who have built profitable Businesses that resonate with who they are. Most are bloggers, or at least have web presence, but their Businesses vary greatly, from Internet Marketing to pet insurance company. They include men, women, young, older.

Are there common traits wow gold among these entrepreneurs? I think so. This article reviews their answers to two of my standard questions and explores the theme among them so that we can learn from the mistakes and victories they have so gracefully shared with us.

What were the biggest challenges when you were starting as new entrepreneurs?

Lack of money, lack of sales / marketing expertise and self-doubt are the top three challenges they site, followed by lack of business plans, management issues regarding the employees and Business partners, time management and multi tasking, and more.

Depending on the Business, the capital it takes differs, but even for a one-person operation, money is a challenge. Some of my interview guests mentioned what it was like to bootstrap, and I’m guessing even the ones who didn’t mention it probably went through similar challenges.

The issue of money gets aggravated by the lack of sales and marketing expertise. Many new entrepreneur have the technical skills of their trade but not the sales skill to bring their products and services in front of their target customers in an effective way. They struggle to define their target clients (Stephen) and to find the right pricing (Susanna). They may not have many contacts to network (Monica). Harry says, “We had the skills and the Business knowledge we needed, but we knew very little of bringing this to the virtual world.”

Self-doubt is a biggie that holds back many aspiring entrepreneurs, and it continues to interfere many even after they take the plunge. Christine says “I didn’t think I was good enough.” Jason says “it’s easy to start second-guessing yourself. ‘Am I crazy?’ seemed to be a recurring question that popped up in my head.”

We nodded our heads

Postby Hoppi94606 on 18 Mar 2009, 00:57

It was finally making sense. He did want us to widen our views. To . see what Mrs. Martin could not see, his employees could not see, or my dad for that matter. He used examples that sounded cruel at the time, but I've never forgotten them. My vision widened that day, and I could begin to see the trap that lay ahead for most people.
"You see, we're all employees ultimately. We just work at different levels," said rich dad. "I just want you boys to have a chance to avoid the trap. The trap caused by those two emotions, fear and desire. Use them in your favor, not against you. That's what I want to teach you. I'm not interested in just teaching you to make a pile of money. That won't handle the fear or desire. If you don't first handle fear and desire, and you get rich, you'll only be a high-paid slave."
"So how do we avoid the trap?" I asked.
"So is there an answer?" asked Mike.dog clothing,
"Yes," said rich dad. dog clothes wholesale "Learn to use your emotions to think, not think with your emotions. When you boys mastered your emotions, first by agreeing to work for free, dog apparel, I knew there was hope. When you again resisted your emotions when I tempted you with more money, pet clothes, you were again learning to think in spite of being emotionally charged. pet clothing, That's the first step."
"Why is that step so important" I asked.
"The main cause of poverty or financial struggle is fear and ignorance, not the economy or the government or the rich. It's selfinflicted fear and ignorance that keeps people trapped. So you boys go to school and get your college degrees. I'll teach you how to stay out of the trap."
The pieces of the puzzle were appearing. My highly educated dad had a great education and a great career. But school never told him how to handle money or his fears. It became clear that I could learn different and important things from two fathers.
"So you've been talking about the fear of not having money. How does the desire of money affect our thinking?" Mike asked.
"How did you feel when I tempted you with a pay raise? Did you notice your desires rising?"
We nodded our heads.
"By not giving in to your emotions, you were able to delay your reactions and think. That is most important. We will always have emotions of fear and greed. From here on in, it is most important for you to use those emotions to your advantage and for the long term, and not simply let your emotions run you by controlling your thinking. Most people use fear and greed against themselves. That's the start of ignorance. Most people live their lives chasing paychecks, pay raises and job security because of the emotions of desire and fear, not really questioning where those emotion-driven thoughts are leading them. It's just like the picture of a donkey, dragging a cart, with its owner dangling a carrot just in front of the donkey's nose. The donkey's owner may be going where he wants to go, but the donkey is chasing an illusion. Tomorrow there will only be another carrot for the donkey."
"You mean the moment I began to picture a new baseball glove, candy and toys, that's like a carrot to a donkey?" Mike asked.
