When i was asking them at the beginning when v1.0 came out, they said i won't have to paid more for any updates, the licence is only tied to your phone not to version. Guess they fooled me too... :?

Nobody has been fooled. V1.0 works fine. V2.0 works also fine with more features.
14$ is nothing nowadays. That's hardly a 1,5 big mac menu where I live.

Since I'm on a 3G iPhone I will not install SwirlyMMS as MMS is now supported by Apple and by my operator at launch (yeeei)

So I would like to thank the Swirlyspace team for a great effort in solving a big problem for many users and they have well deserved the cash they have earned! :-)

How about that right now? V1.0 is not going to port over to iPhone OS3.0. :(

Kinda disappointed.

Basically, they want their users who bought the V1.0 licensed to pay n upgrade to V2.0. Else the money you paid for V1.0 will just gone for good. :(

iPhone 3G users not gonna need this anymore.

You can view it in that angle if you choose.. the fact is they are saying versions lower than 3.x aren't supported officially anymore, the code base is too different from each other and maintaining those previous generations would be a pain in the neck .. if they were charging more maybe they could hire more programmers to keep everyone who complains happy .. ;)

They offered a discount for the upgrade... and the price is still overall cheap .. the price of lunch .. I'm sure you got more than your $8.00 worth from it... did you really expect $8.00 software would last you a life time anyway?
