Getting SwirlyMMS to work all the time

OK after alot of looking and reading this is what i've found and VERIFIED
family plans with unlimited texting work fine
any text plan should work

The Tricks and why:

the iphone was not setup for MMS messaging (DUH) we all know this but AT&T in their ultimate wisdom have desided since it dont do it we wont let you. This is the problem with no 1 set of parameters working for any length of time.

Work arounds:

Short term: I put my sim in my palm centro sent a few mms's to the wife took the sim and put it back in my iphone and configured swirly using mmsc.cingular.com , It worked flawlessly for a while and then started getting that unexpected error.

Long Term: I restored my iphone to firmware 1.1.4 then I used ziphone to fake my ieme number to that of my centro then I waited for for AT&T to do there snoop thing and now I send mms all the time with no problems and all other feathers work fine as well

Alternative: the fake phone setup a few have talked about might work it was just easier for me to fake the ieme number. I own both phones so I dont see the problem

ok. swirly is agreat app and if u don't have AT&T it's fairly easy to setup and use but for those of us that have AT&T this is not a happy story
there are only 2 real fixes for those of us with AT&T as our carrier and they are
1 - fake your imei number

2 - get someone at AT&T to manipulate your account

option 1 is the only 100% fix for you if your with AT&T
option 2 works but sooner or later the system will be updated and your back where u started
AT&T in the USA is blocking mms on your iPhone via imei tracking
I've tried it all talked with apple and AT&T techs, I myself have 2 degrees and 15 years in communication
unless swirly gets put on the app store by apple or the author of swirly can get the app to mask the imei number mms on AT&T with our iPhones is not something you can count on having when u want to use it

if someone wants to prove me wrong please do so. but please stop posting all the useless settings for AT&T USA users
I purchased the app to show support be can't use it since my upgrade to 2.1 firmware and it restored my original imei number I have been unable to use the app

I love my iPhone but at this time I am seriously considering the T-32 iPhone clone that runs windows mobile
I will still have access to apps for mobile devices and can mms ok any carrier without AT&T and apple being a pain

THIS IS ALL BS!!!! Wht do people have to be so annoying? I spoke to ATT and Apple enough times to qualify for a pension! There is no way MMS will work on the iPhone....period. I have talked ATT into provisioning WAP and MMS on my iPhone data plan, even though they told me "you iPhone people" don't get to have MMS provisioned. I have to figure this site is just one HUGE HOAX. It sounds like a bunch of annoying teens with nothing better to do then play with their parents iPhones, and screwing with all the rest of us hard working individuals that would just like to get MMS working just like all the other cell phones out there. It's pretty sad my free Nokia can send perfect MMS messages on ATT's network, and my $$$$$$$$ iPhone can't!!! All you bored teens: give your parents iPhones bak to them....and then GO GET A JOB!!!!

Macperry, you fu*cking jackass, I used to think and be just like you. No shit. I swear I have iPhone 3G and 2.1 firmware. gQ did something to my phone and it's been working ever since. November 13th. I swear to you. I will make a youtube video to prove it. Ive been standing right next to a person when they get one from me. It's almost instantly. I also recieve pics via MMS on my iPhone very quickly. This includes audio clips and animated gifs as well as regular pictures.

Who else is in my boat? What do I need to do to prove that I have has this working for a while now.TELL ME!

gbadude....not bitter, just a little short on patience. I am an IT specialist by trade, and it just pisses me off a bit when certain people take advantage of others.

I have gotten my iphone 3g to receive and send mms though AT&T numerous times. The problem is when you switch to a new phone, you have to go through the whole process again and again... Also, it definitely is not the easiest thing to get working in the first place. Why AT&t and Apple wont allow MMS is as crazy as not having cut and paste.
