AT&T Family Plan settings?

Postby BDaniels08 on 02 Oct 2008, 22:37

Okay I have two lines on my plan, my iphone and my brothers Blackjack 2.

We are in the U.S, we have the family unlimited text plan, and i have the iphone data plan.

I have the MMSC set up as : http://mmsc.cingular.com
I have the proxy set up as : 066.209.011.032

The little M up in the status bar glows bright green so i know i have connection.

I have sent a test pic from my computer to my phone i receive it but when i open it i get "fetch error: unexpected http response.."

AND

when i test send a pic i have an error " timeout or error when reading http header"

Can someone please help me to figure out a way to fix those two errors so my SwirlyMMS works? it would be extremely appreciated

its not gonna work for 3g skip. partly because the feature list registered to the iphone on the att systems does not have the mms feature to enable it. :o

Actually it is going to work.I have been using the program since it was available and then purchased it.And its still working on my 3G IPHONE & 2G IPHONE , and I did not call ATT ,switch sim card to a diff. phone, change imei numbers or any of that (Which any moron knows if you call and give a diff. imei number then you will be charged out the ying yang for what you do with your iphone.

I am having the exact same problem and the same phone combinations. Both accounts are setup with PDA connect plans with messaging. If I move the iphone sim card to the blackjack, all works. But I get the HTTP errors and forbidden messages when I use either sim card on the iphone.
AT&T has been extremely helpful. It seems it maybe due to the WAP provisioning of APNs for PDAs, Blackberrys and iPhones. As a test, they provisioned me for the iphone WAP and this worked! But when I put my simcard back into the Blackjack it stops working. When they provisioned me for the PDA WAP, it worked on the Blackjack again and NOT on the iPhone:(
Unfortunately being provisioned on the iPhone APN for WAP prevents our corporate email and tethering from connecting.

Seems there's no happy middle with a working solution.

Well, I finally got a working solution with much thanks to all the AT&T customer service and technical support. Although the solution is unorthodox and unsupported and sadly may hamper this wonderful offering of this MMS product.
As stated before certain APN configurations worked, but kept other features from working. Also, when one setting was configured and worked, it seemed the next day it stopped working.
The final solution was my account was configured for a generic WAP(typical nokia, ericson or motorola setting) with no phone assigned to the account. Essentially they erased the IMEI number. This prevented the system resetting back and stopping some of the features from working. With the gerneric WAP and no IMEI defined my account was also able to have the other required APNs configured, thus enabling my email and tethering support.
This may not be a lot of help for everyone as you may not be able to obtain these settings.

In short, the following settings will work..
- iPhone WAP with a standard (non-iPhone) messaging plan.
The system may reset your message plan and stop this from working
- A generic WAP and any messaging plan where there system will not identify your phone as an iPhone.
This is probably more long term, but could be difficult to accomplish without inside help from AT&T.
