AT&T ?!

Postby clayewi on 21 May 2008, 20:22

How do I get this thing working with regular old ATT service in the US? The other phones in my plan send and receive MMS but i can't get Swirly to work. The settings I have right now are:

mmsc.cingular.com

066.209.011.032

My suspicion is that these are wrong.

Ok, well does anyone know of an MMS app that actually works, cause this one doesn't. I have tried everything suggested to make this work with AT&T and it does not work. Has anyone out there actually gotten it to work with AT&T? Seems to me this should be the most common set up as AT&T is the only official carrier.

"the only official carrier"??? where do you live? On the moon? There are a handfull more "official" carriers that sell iPhone in the UK, France, Germany etc etc

Also, by reading this forum it must be very obvious that AT&T is actively working against people using MMS in their network with an iPhone (for some strange reason). Some people though seems to have managed to get it working.

I think this MMS.APP is a great "idea" but I too have not seen a single post from anyone saying they have gotten it to work with ATT & T. You woudl think to see a quick response on how to get it to work on the forums.
AT & T in the USA effects a large percentage of people (possible paying customers to SwirlyMMS!) I think they should make an announcement saying if it works with United States AT& T or not (with instructions on howto) and go from there..... as of right now, installing this is a simply a waste of time and space.

Somebody please respond if it is possible for this program to work on an at&t network in the US. Im holding off on buying it until somebody comes out and says that it is possible for it to work on the att network.

When I try to send a message this appears

"Failed to send MMS"
Possible incorrect mmsc setting.
(HTTP/1.1 403 Forbidden)

I really want this program to work.

it is definately possible to get it to work but it seems you need a lot of persuasive talent to make the AT&T reps do the correct settings for you.
The best tutorial for this is probably this one:

phone faker was implemented to solve a problem that some people only received very small (resized) pics. They were resized because the operator didnt know the capabilities of SwirlyMMS. For example T-Mobile US did that.

I know it is a lot of discussions regarding MMS and AT&T at modmyifone.com, maybe they have some better and more up-to-date info on the AT&T issue.
Me myself dont know more than what I read here. Sorry. :(
