Hi, these settings have not worked for me. I have tried with no port number, port 8080, and port 9201 yet I still receive:

Failed to send MMS
Could not connect to proxy (unable to locate host)

Ive tried all the settings out there......Orange certify that mms is definately enabled on my account. My edge settings are

APN: orangewap
Username: orange
Password: multimedia

(works fine)

anyone have any ideas ? Please somebody help.

Girls keep sending me pictures that I can't view. Its driving me nuts !

Hey Lozzers & Solly.

Thanks for your posts. From your settings, it would look like it was the capitals but alas, it wasnt. Ive already tried every variation.

As Im unable to connect to proxy, the problem must lie with the MMSC, proxy address or APN. Id be gratefull if you could give me your EDGE settings as well please...? . (or have you already?) Bit confusing when there are APN settings for EDGE and Swirly MMS. I suspect that yours are configured differently to mine. orangemms wont allow me to surf but orangewap will. Neither work for swirly MMS.

Seams strange that a different APN is required for MMS than that which is used for surfing.... :|

oh by the way, Im also using 1.1.4. (pwned). EDGE has always worked fine for me, but what exactly does the latest version of pwnage fix ?

Re: Orange UK - Proxy settings

Postby donnag on 30 Apr 2008, 23:33

Hi all,

Ive switched to Orange to get EDGE and it works! The blue E is showing. I can receive WAP. I can receive SwirlyMMS!! So things are getting better! :)

Just still something missing though. When I try to send MMS I get "Failed to Send MMS - Could not connect to proxy (connect failed)". Its the same for fetching messages, "failed to connect to proxy: connect failed / Could not fetch any MMS - check your settings!".

The 'm' is showing bright green. Wifi is turned off. People are sending me MMS and my phone is getting them (I have 9 MMS waiting to be fetched!) So does anyone know the proxy settings for SwirlyMMS (for iPhone 1.1.4) for Orange UK network then?

These are the current settings I am trying:

SWIRLYMMS:
MMSC: http://mms.orange.co.uk/ OR http://orange.multimedia/
Proxy: 192.168.224.10:9201 OR 192.168.71.035:9201 (its responding to port 9201 not 8080)
APN: paygwap (correct)
Username: orange (correct)
Password: multimedia (correct)

Network > EDGE:
APN orangeinternet (correct)
Username orange (correct)
Password multimedia (correct)

Would be ecstatic if someone could help with this! I have a feeling I'm missing one small thing!

Many thanks, donnag

did everyone see solly above is using the proxy: 102.168.224.10:8080
and NOT 192..... as everyone else is using (as well as my original post). Or did you just mis-type it solly?

Yeah, I assumed it was a typo but tried anyways. Must have tried every combination possible. I also have images waiting to be fetched but can't connect to proxy. Id be over the moon if this app worked for me. Perhaps you need a 1.0 beta tester...? ;)

hmmm strange

A wild guess: can you try switching off wifi before starting swirlymms and then try to fetch! It shouldnt be needed but ....
