At&t has a note out on all iphone accounts and it reads something like this: Due to a third party application "swirly mms" (and it does state swirly) that allows mms to be transferred, you are not make any changes to WAP and messaging settings that have iphone plans.
So, again the only way to get mms is to have an active iphone pull out the sim put it into another phone, call att, cancel your iphone account, setup unlimited text and data plan on that phone (provided it takes mms) make a few calls, send a few pics, then swap it back into your iphone. You will lose visual voice mail, but it's a fair trade for mms in my opinion...
