AT&T, Yea...This may be what we NEEDED for it to work..

Here goes the different settings for MMSC, Proxy and APN that have been proven usable.

This is what I did, I read about a guy taking his sims out and putting it in to another phone, I thought what the heck I will try it. I removed my sims and stuck it in an old Razer and tried to send a picture mail, well it did not work. I tried another, same thing, failed, I put the phone down and about 15 minutes later it chirped, and it had a MMS message. I picked it up and I was able to receive the pic. I then went to the out box and resent the 2 messages that failed, and they sent. I then took the sims from the razer and put it back into the Iphone and it now works.

I tried this and it worked for about 30 minutes then stopped working. Any other ideas?

Lucky you. I tried calling AT&T to enable WAP push and I have had more success talking my wife into a threesome.

I may have the solution if someone is willing to trust me. I have downloaded swirlymms and i have the demo as of now b/c none of my settings are working correctly to send nor receive mms as of this point. I get the green M and i have 3 mms messages waiting to retrieve however it gives me the error message.

I am pretty sure this is due to some restriction or lack of features on my iphone account. By this i mean if you buy a 3g iphone and activate it on your account, you will not see this on your bill this is something only at&t employees can see, your account will have a bunch of 0 dollar features that normally would not be there with any other phone. example if you have 1500 text messaging package, on the iphones account it will be coded iphone messaging 1500 where as all the other phones just say messaging 1500, along with those features are other 0 dollar codes like iphone 3g tracking, etc etc. now obviously i know this b/c my friend works for at&t and he was explaining it to me b/c i told him that I couldn't get swirly mms to work on my account. He tells me its b/c the iphone automatically provisions your account to block mms hence the reason why people are saying when they had WAP PUSH swirly works. So i asked him to add that to my account however he said that there is no such code called WAP PUSH, so that gave me the conclusion maybe customer service just called it WAP PUSH but it has a different feature code. So he looked at all the 0 dollar features that he could give me but there were too many to try and choose from and for him to go into my account and each feature and remove each feature after they don't work would look suspicious to his managers.

SO this is where trust comes into play, If ANY ONE has swirly working on their phones and they have at&t, could you just pm me your cell phone number so I can have him look at what 0 dollar feature/s you have that I don't, and to see if that feature code is really the missing link. If it does end up working then we can have people call customer care and tell them the exact feature code that needs to be added on their account.

I promise i will not stalk you nor call you EVER, i just want to get this squared away once and for all

Thank you in advance, hopefully this will be the answer.

Do you need someone who has enabled "push" or who has a family plan with MMS working. I am in a family plan. Would that help your investigation?

it would only help if you have mms working currently on your iphone now so i can see what features you have that i don't.

@the answer:

found the hofo wiki for AT&T feature codes. looks like MUX1 is what blocks MMS messaging. idk, take a look at the link and talk you your AT&T hookup about it I really want Swirly working like yesterday

Finally got it!

I took the SIM out of my iPhone 3G and put it in my old Tilt. I was able to make calls and text, but no internet (blank pages only) or MMS. I called AT&T on New Year's, and told them I dropped and broke my iPhone, and that due to the price I wouldn't be replacing it for some time. I told her I am reverting back to my Tilt. She updated her system with the Tilt's IMEI, and had to call tech support for them to do something similar in another system. She said it could take up to 24 hours to become effective, end of call. As of 1/5, still the same problem. My SIM is still in the Tilt at this time. I set up the Unlimited data/Text plan ($50) on my online account. I called back, and the gentlemen said my account needed to be provisioned for MediaNet. He said this affects internet and MMS. He provisioned my account while I took the battery out and back in, and voila, MMS from the Tilt works. I hang up, and put my iPhone SIM back into the iPhone, and SWIRLY worked! It was gratifying to see a status bar while the message was fetched, followed by the picture I sent myself. I logged into my account online today, and it shows my device as an iPhone. It still shows that I have the $50 non-iPhone combo plan, and Swirly still works like a charm. I will post back in a few days to see if the AT&T system sweep knocks me off. I did lose visual VM, but I can live without it.

Edit: Still working as of 1/8/2008! And not on a family plan!
